Kahunaverse Sports Group celebrate its Past, Present and Future with Company’s First Logo

SURREY, BC – The Kahunaverse Sports Group (KSG) continues its evolution today by officially unifying both Big Kahuna Sport Co. and Home Run Sports under one brand. To celebrate its past, present and much-anticipated future, KSG is launching a new logo and icon that represents both company’s rich histories, while also modernizing the brand with their long-term vision.


This new logo icon is a true synergy of the former Big Kahuna Sport Co, Home Run Sports and Kahunaverse brands by combining features of each brands iconic features into a fresh new appearance.

Former logos:

Logo Features

Circle – Both Big Kahuna and Home Run Sports had circular components to their previous logos. The circle further represents totality, wholeness and eternity.

Maple Leaf – The Maple leaf was a big part of Home Run Sports, but as we all know is a major Canadian icon. Both companies are proudly Canadian and support athletes, teams and communities across the country.

STAR – Representing the entire sports universe and that sport has no boundaries. The star was also a big component of the original Kahunaverse brand and has been pulled out of the “A” in Kahunaverse and shifted inside the maple leaf.

“We are so proud of this new identity that we have established. Creating a harmonious balance of both amazing companies was at the forefront of this new design. It is one thing to rebrand one company, but to bring two under a single new name required something a bit more special.” says Scott Kehoe VP of Marketing. “I think we hit this one out of the park.”

Transition Brand

Because both companies have a long history and deep relations in their respective communities, Kahunaverse Sports Group will retain the former Home Run Sports and Big Kahuna logos as part of the brand for 2018. As they move forward and establish a new identity, the former company logos will be removed along with the “GROUP” wordmark to officially become “Kahunaverse Sports”.

Today marks the beginning or a new chapter in both company’s history. The Kahunaverse Sports Group now holds six stores across Canada with their seventh opening up soon at the impressive new Windsor Central Park Athletics facility. With new stores slated to open through 2020 across Canada, KSG is poised to make a big impact in both the retail and institutional market. The new website is set to go live this spring with new features being added all the way through 2019. The KSG brand will go beyond providing the highest calibre of athletic apparel and equipment by creating to a complete holistic user experience. Understanding that the needs of a coach, a parent, an athlete or a business are all unique in nature, the new omnichannel user experience will take the customer experience to the next level from both in-store and online.

KSG will also be driving deeper into their community support model. Starting with the rebranding of their current store locations to support local sports groups and athletes with enhanced in-store digital experiences, all the way to meeting rooms, batting cages outfitted with HitTrax simulators, interactive product displays and more.

With so many significant recent changes and a deep history as a major player in the Canadian sports environment, Kahunaverse Sports Group’s new branding is a testament to the company’s longevity and promising future.
